From 2013 to 2017, he served as Secretary and General Counsel for Global Medical REIT, Inc. (NYSE:GMRE) advising the REIT from its startup, through 18 acquisitions of healthcare facilities worth more than $250 million, and through its IPO on the NYSE in 2016.

More recently, Mr. Flanigan has been advising startups and middle market companies in a wide range of industries. Ryan McRae is a Research Analyst at JWL International, where he has contributed to the team since March 2024. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Coastal Carolina University, graduating with honors and earning certificates in Cultural Heritage Studies and Instructional Technology. During his time at that institution, Mr. McRae served as President of an academic honor society and conducted research in historic preservation. He later earned a Master of Arts in Social Science from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, concentrating his studies in Political Science and further strengthening his interdisciplinary approach to research and analysis. At JWL International, Mr. McRae applies his strong work ethic and analytical skills to support complex research initiatives, with future plans to pursue a doctorate and expand his career in both the legal and educational sectors. Mr. McRae is an active member of the Horry County Historic Preservation Commission and was formerly a Corporal in the South Carolina State Guard. Daisy Alvarado’s many skills and experiences have blended together to serve her in anything she needs to do. Originally from the East coast, her working career began as a living history guide for a colonial museum where she taught visitors of all ages about life in the 1700s. She have since worked as a park ranger for the National Park Service in the San Francisco Bay Area, a paralegal for the US Department of Interior in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and a policy writer and IT project manager for the US Department of Agriculture here in the Denver Metro Area until October 2025, when she retired. To stay busy in retirement, She earned her Colorado Real Estate license and have been working as a broker for Berkshire Hathaway Colorado HomeServices. Daisy loves to stay active outdoors, spend time with family, and swim laps at her local pool.

A licensed Certified Public Accountant in Illinois, Mr. Margner is a cum laude graduate of Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science in Business and Economics, and holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in accounting and taxation from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. Since 1995, he has focused exclusively on multistate and local tax consulting. Mr. Margner’s career includes roles with two Chicago-based Fortune 100 companies, several national and regional accounting firms, and a prominent family office serving a multi-billionaire financier. He later founded his own boutique multistate tax consulting practice, advising a wide range of public and privately held businesses across industries including manufacturing, distribution, software, transportation, financial services, healthcare, real estate, and cloud-based technologies. He is recognized for his deep expertise in multistate income and sales/use tax matters, including Wayfair-related compliance, transactional tax planning, nexus reviews, voluntary disclosures, due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, and audit defense. His consulting work spans corporate, pass-through, and personal income tax issues, including residency studies and legal entity restructuring. Mr. Margner is a frequent speaker at professional conferences, including those hosted by the Illinois CPA Society, Tax Executives Institute, and the Illinois Equipment Dealers Association. His published work has appeared in The Tax Advisor, Practice Advantage, and various trade association journals, particularly on Wayfair and drop-shipment tax issues. He is an active member of the Illinois CPA Society’s State & Local Tax Committee, where he provides quarterly updates on Illinois sales and use tax developments.
